Our Sunshine Coast Wanderers men’s team put in one of their most dominant performances of the season against Virginia United in Round 6 of the Kappa Cup, coming away with a resounding 4-0 victory.
The victory was not the only reason worth celebrating — the boys are now entering never-before-seen territory in the Queensland Kappa Cup competition, setting up a scintillating quarter-final clash with NPL heavyweights Lions FC at Ballinger Park at 3:00pm Saturday, 13 June.
The winner of the tie will not only reach the semi-final stage of Queensland’s premier cup competition, but will also earn a place in the Round of 32 of the Australia Cup and a chance to compete against A-League opposition. The stakes could not be higher!
Put on your Wanderers merch, grab the whole family, tell your mates, and come on down to Ballinger Park to support our men’s team — who have one of the youngest squads in the FQPL1 — as they attempt to upset the five-time NPL champion in a true David versus Goliath matchup.
We may be the underdogs, but with the support of the Wanderers Football Club faithful, anything is possible.
