Indigenous

Sunshine Coast Wanderers is proud to continue its strong links with the Sunshine Coast Goannas, where support networks for Indigenous communities are created through sport, health, education and employment, on and off the field.

The Sunshine Coast Goannas Indigenous Football team aims to generate and foster relationships within Indigenous communities locally and nationally. It’s no secret that football brings people together, and that’s why the Sunshine Coast Wanderers have been honoured to support the vision of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players. Football is a platform for connection, health and positive mentoring.

Sunshine Coast Wanderers acknowledge and embrace the indigenous culture, and are committed to working towards closing the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous people. Together we are stronger and we will go further.

Acknowledgment to Country

Wanderers Football is proud to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we train and play, the Gubbi Gubbi / Kabi Kabi people, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
