Showing remarkable skill and determination on the field, all teams from the Under-13s to the Under-18s were a very competitive force this year.
On the girls’ side, the Under-13s, 14s, 15s, and 17s were all crowned premiers. And while the Under-13s and 15s made the finals, the Under-14s were the ones to take home the win for the boys.

Of course, these achievement come as Greg announced the Sunshine Coast Wanderers’ new-look Academy Technical Team — the group who’ll shape how our players develop over the seasons ahead.
While Greg remains as Technical Director, Rui Spinola will move into the Academy Director role. We’re also delighted to welcome Michael Angus to the club as Lead Coach of the Junior Foundation Phase.
Michael arrives with a strong playing career behind him, having captained Brisbane Strikers in the NPL. He’s since become one of the Sunshine Coast’s most respected development coaches, working alongside Rui in junior programs across the region. His focus is on individual skill acquisition and the technical foundations of the game — first touch, 1v1 ability, and ball mastery. Michael will also lead our new Technical Skills Clinic, launching in Term 4, giving players individually focused, high-repetition technical development.
Of course, he joins a technical department with serious depth. Greg is a former Matildas head coach and dual international, while Rui is highly regarded across the region for his long-standing work in junior player development.
Together they’ll continue strengthening our player-development pathway, with a clear progression from MiniRoos through to FQPL and NPL football.
This technical team will take us into 2027 and beyond — through to our planned move into the state-of-the-art Honey Farm Road facility in 2028. It’s an exciting new chapter for the Wanderers and for football development across our region.
