The 2026 FQ Academy State Championships — one of the state’s most important football tournaments for junior players — were played over the weekend, with the Wanderers showing the rest of Queensland why our club has one of the strongest youth development programs in the state, performing outstandingly across each age division.
The Sunshine Coast Wanderers Under 14 Girls and Under 15 Girls both won their respective age divisions, putting in some truly dominant performances along the way. Our Under 14, 15, and 16 Boys teams all came away with incredible 2nd-place results, while the Under 17 Girls finished in 3rd place after a 2-0 win in their placement final. The Under 13 Boys and Girls finished in 11th and the top four, respectively, showcasing some impressive goal-scoring prowess along the way.
The Wanderers is at the forefront of youth football development in Queensland, and we cannot wait to see where the next generation of footballers can take our club.
