The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is getting closer and closer to the launch of the inaugural OFC Professional League. The competition will see eight teams from across the Oceania region compete in a tournament that will run from January to May in 2026.

The teams will each play a minimum of 17 matches before reaching the play-off stage, where they will compete for a place in the semi-finals, followed by the grand finale. The 13 clubs seeking licenses are from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, and Vanuatu, but only eight teams will be granted a place in the competition.

The OFC Professional League will become the qualifying pathway for Oceania’s representative at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the newly formatted quadrennial FIFA Club World Cup in 2029.
