Sunshine Coast Wanderers FC is excited to announce the appointment of Tony Skinner as Women’s Head Coach for the 2026 season, marking an important step forward for the club’s women’s program.
Tony joins the Wanderers following a highly successful tenure at Mitchelton FC, where he spent five years building a strong women’s program. During that time, he led the team to the FQPL 1 Women’s Championship, earning promotion to the NPL Women’s competition. He then continued as Head Coach of Mitchelton’s NPLW side for a further two seasons, including a standout 2023 campaign where the team finished fifth and Tony was nominated for Coach of the Year.
More recently, Tony transitioned into the role of Technical Director at Mitchelton FC, playing a key part in the club’s development pathway. Under his leadership, the club progressed from Bronze Level to Silver Level accreditation in just two years — a testament to his commitment to long-term player and program development.
Tony holds both an AFC A Diploma and an AFC B Goalkeeper Diploma, bringing a wealth of experience, structure, and technical expertise to the Wanderers.
Speaking on his appointment, Tony said:
“I am excited to coach at NPL level once again, and can’t wait for the challenge ahead.”
The club looks forward to welcoming Tony to Ballinger Park and is confident his experience and leadership will play a key role in the continued growth of women’s football at Sunshine Coast Wanderers FC.
