Sunshine Coast Wanderers is incredibly proud to congratulate Codey Huston on his selection as a goalkeeper in Australia’s inaugural U-15 National Select squad.
Codey will travel to Azerbaijan with the national squad to compete at the FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026™ from 22–31 October, marking an exciting milestone in his young football career.
For the Wanderers, Codey’s selection is also a proud reflection of the pathway available to talented young players here on the Sunshine Coast.
Codey developed through the Sunshine Coast Wanderers FQ Academy program and consistently stood out both on and off the pitch. In 2024, he was named U13 Player of the Year and Players’ Player, before repeating both achievements at U14 level in 2025.
He also received the Wanderers President’s Award in 2024, recognising not only his performances but the attitude, character and potential he demonstrated throughout his time at the club.
With just 14 players selected from across Australia for the squad, Codey’s inclusion is an outstanding achievement and an exciting moment for everyone who has been part of his development.
His journey is also an important reminder to young players throughout the club that opportunities to progress are there.
Hard work, consistency, humility and a willingness to keep developing can take players a long way — from Ballinger Park to the international stage.
