Wanderers Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Richard Hudson as the new Head Coach of the Sunshine Coast Wanderers Senior Team for the upcoming season.
Richard is highly regarded as one of the Sunshine Coast’s most successful and well-respected coaches, known for his professionalism, tactical knowledge, and strong leadership qualities. Hudson will commence his duties at the beginning of the 2026 season, with the clear goal of achieving promotion back to the NPL.
His no-nonsense, disciplined approach to coaching has seen him perform successfully across multiple respected Sunshine Coast Clubs, earning recognition for his ability to build structure, culture, and success at all levels.
During his storied career on the Sunshine Coast, Richard has collected various personal and collective accolades, and was recently named Sunshine Coast Community Male Coach of the Year for the 2025 season. In 2011, he led the Sunshine Coast Fire to a Queensland State League Championship as Head Coach before going on to share his experience and knowledge through various successful Head Coach and Football Director roles in Queensland and New Zealand.
Wanderers President, Glenn Duncan, believes the appointment of the renowned coach is a substantial step in the right direction for Sunshine Coast Wanderers.
