ABOUT EMERGING WANDERERS

The Emerging Wanderers program covers all modified football programs. Headed up by Emerging Wanderers Director, Michael Angus who is currently completing his A Coaching License, the program covers Mini-Roos, Skill Acquisition Program (SAP)  and the 'Emerging Wanderers Development Skills Clinics' for players from 5-12 years old.

SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAM

The Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) is an elite competition for juniors aged U9 to U12 who wish to advance beyond local club football and play against representative teams from other regions in South East Queensland. Skill Acquisition Program provides young players with a positive and challenging football environment, while preparing players to progress into the National Premier Leagues Junior competitions.

SAP is a competition run by Football Queensland (as part of FFA’s National Curriculum). Wanderers Football Club is proud to represent our region and provide great new opportunities for junior players from the Sunshine Coast.

Coaches are carefully pre-selected and well credentialed, with each coach holding a minimum of an FFA/AFC C Youth Licence to ensure a quality standard of coaching for all teams and players.

Players from all clubs are encouraged and welcomed to trial for a place in SAP teams for Sunshine Coast Wanderers.

SAP AGE GROUPS

Sunshine Coast Wanderers will field teams for SAP in the following age groups:

  • Under 9 Boys

  • Under 10 Boys

  • Under 11 Boys

  • Under 12 Boys

MINIROOS

For many starting out in the beautiful game MiniRoos will be their introduction. MiniRoos is designed for kids of all abilities, and Wanderers will field teams for girls and boys aged 6 – 11 years. MiniRoos at Wanderers has a focus on learning new skills, being active, making life-long friends and being part of the Wanderers community.

Wanderers MiniRoos teams are made up of girls and boys from ages 6-11 years, with field, goal and team sizes changing as the age groups increase. MiniRoos players in the under 10 and 11 age groups are categorised into two levels (Kangaroos and Wallabies) depending on skill and enthusiasm level in preparedness for their development into Junior competitive football.

MINIROOS AGE GROUPS

Wanderers have MiniRoos teams in the following age groups (there are no competition points at stake for MiniRoos):

  • Under 6 Boys and Girls (4 players on the field)

  • Under 7 Boys and Girls (4 players on the field)
